East Coast, US Technical Business Development Professional

Core Focus
The successful candidate will be working in the New England region and will reside in Massachusetts to increase our market presence and brand awareness within the specified geography. This will be accomplished through the management and support of our existing accounts to ensure customer success through direct client relationship management as well as internal client advocacy. The position is also directly accountable for prospecting, building, and nurturing new customers and transitioning them to long term relationships, primarily in Biologics based therapeutics.
Our entire customer support team (including Business Development, Technical Leads and Operations) work closely together and rely heavily on deep technical understanding to support our new and existing customers so that we can efficiently address their scientific needs and craft innovative and efficient solutions to our customers problems. This team-oriented process requires a proactive Business Development professional function to connect and build strong relationships with our clients by utilizing a deep understanding of the fundamental scientific principles and processes involved.

Qualifications/Experience
- 5+ years of experience in sales and or business development within the biotech industry, preferably in protein sciences and/or service organizations
- Preferred MS or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Protein Chemistry, or closely related field
- Background in Cell Line Development and/or Protein Engineering preferred.

Senior Financial Analyst
ATUM is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This is a full time in office role in the San Francisco Bay Area. Not open to relocation.

The ideal Financial Analyst candidate has excellent analytical and advanced financial modeling skills, experienced in supporting financial planning, financial analysis and management reporting, with business acumen and solid knowledge of corporate finance concepts. You think strategically and you drive for scalable, insightful financial models, dashboards and KPIs. You are collaborative across functions and you communicate effectively within the organization.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Planning and Reporting: develop and implement multi-year strategic and annual budget planning process. Provide monthly budgetary controls and analysis, develop and implement quarterly forecast model with a focus on revenue analysis, gross margin, inventory levels and cash forecasting. Identify and communicate on P&L gaps and opportunities and work with leadership team on corrective action plan. Prepare financial reporting for Board of Directors presentations.
- Business finance support: design, maintain and publish management financial and key performance indicator reporting used by senior management team to drive results. Provide ad-hoc reporting and ad-hoc analysis for support to the decision making process on key sales deals, manufacturing costs reduction initiatives or new product development projects.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of an ERP system to integrate accounting and reporting of business transactions. Lead the implementation of the planning and reporting application.
- Financial support to accounting team: Contribute to the generation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance to US generally accepted accounting principles.

Cell Line Development Project Manager
ATUM is looking for a motivated life sciences professional to join our Cell Line Development Project Management team.
ATUM (www.atum.bio) is a 20-year-old, world-leading bioengineering company of ~160 people. We conduct research to advance our in-house technology platforms and to develop new ways to apply them to solve important biotechnological or pharmaceutical deficiencies. The company has state-of-the-art capabilities in machine learning-assisted synthetic biology, and a suite of innovative technologies spanning protein and cellular engineering, gene synthesis, gene transfer, protein expression and manufacturing. We provide diverse, and often highly tailored, solutions to a broad range of clients across the globe.
ATUM’s innovative CLD team is rapidly growing. The CLD project management team supports projects that move through our CLD lab, closely interacting with customers and ATUM scientists.
The right candidate will have a good understanding of molecular biology and mammalian cell culture. While closely supported by the scientists in the CLD team, the Project Manager will need to be able to think independently to sufficiently understand the process, foresee pitfalls and plan for contingencies. All of these skills and attributes will ensure the project is a smooth experience for both the customer and the lab.

Technical Project Manager (Licensing)
Position Overview
This position will manage and support customers who have licensed ATUM-technology. The licensing project manager will have a good understanding of ATUM’s licensed technologies and support technology evaluations, technology transfer and licensing efforts. This position requires excellent project management skills along with the technical knowledge to draft/communicate technical protocols, review data and troubleshoot lab processes.
Licensing Project Manager
Requirements:
- Masters/PhD in biology/life sciences with 2-3 years of customer facing, life science industry experience. PhD preferred.
- Previous technical, customer-facing experience desirable
- Prior experience as a Project or Program Manager
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills with the ability to work with both internal and external teams

Roles and responsibilities:
- Manage all customer communications: schedule meetings, take notes, identify action items and follow-up to ensure timely completion
- Manage the tech transfer process: send protocols, send example data, prepare slides outlining initial experiments, set-up orders for controls
- Assist the Technical lead in creating and organizing tech transfer protocols, data packages, presentations, etc.

Principal Analytical Scientist – Mass Spectrometry
ATUM is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mass Spectrometry (MS) Scientist to join our analytical team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in advancing analytical methodologies to support large molecule characterization and quality assessment of internal R&D and client projects.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of ATUM’s analytical team, driving method development, troubleshooting, and robust data analysis to interrogate and/or ensure product quality and release testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize MS methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis, ensuring high sensitivity and reproducibility.
- Perform data acquisition, processing, and interpretation of MS datasets to support research, development, and product services.
- Develop and execute analytical MS methods, including, but not limited to:
- Peptide mapping and liability assessment
- Glycan Profiling
- Reduced/Intact Mass
- Ensure appropriate maintenance of assigned equipment, conduct training, and scope process optimization with a “continuous improvement” mindset.
- Contribute more broadly to ATUM’s analytics ecosystem, with a focus on delivering a best-in-class analytics platform for addressing client needs.
- Prepare and review technical reports, method protocols, and analytical documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Develop custom analytical services upon request.
- Active participation/lead technical projects within the group.
- Train and mentor junior team members in analytical techniques and data analysis best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline with 8+ years of industry experience; OR M.S. with 12+ years of relevant experience.
- Extensive expertise in LC-MS method development and troubleshooting for characterization of biomolecules, including comprehensive experience with complex large molecule characterization that includes detailed liability and PTM assessment/QC of in-process and fully purified products.
- A robust practical understanding of large molecules and their respective stage-appropriate analytical methods.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Protein Metrics, MassLynx, Xcalibur, Analyst, Chromeleon, Empower, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively document and present findings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with automation and high-throughput analytical workflows, in particular to their application with MS sample prep, data acquisition and analysis.
- An understanding of FPOP, HDX, and/or other MS techniques used to map protein surface topology, study protein dynamics and interactions.
- Ability to write scripts for developing customized methods and analyses.

ATUM is seeking a Director of Marketing based at our headquarters in Newark, CA. The successful candidate will utilize marketing and scientific expertise to launch new offerings and implement marketing activities for our cutting-edge portfolio. Responsibilities will include:
- Support launch of new products by developing presentations, collateral, sales training materials, awareness campaigns and website content
- Develop marketing collateral including brochures, data sheets, application notes, flyers, presentations, video projects, etc.
- Support tradeshows by developing messaging, conference emails, and collateral; ownership for scientific abstract submission, poster and podium presentation schedules
- Create, organize, and manage campaigns to generate leads that will drive a robust sales funnel
- Manage our HubSpot CRM system, develop and monitor metrics of campaigns and manage leads into the funnel
- Work with our vendors to optimize and publish website content updates
- Travel to marketing events as required
- Track success using KPIs and other metrics and report out to senior leadership on a regular basis
- Create and manage the release process for company press releases, manage and distribute materials to the media
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ marketing experience, ideally including launching new products and services in life sciences
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, communications or marketing
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot)
- Understanding of online/digital marketing, website management and social media
- Scientific background or advanced degree in life sciences with experience in biotechnology / biotherapeutic development is a plus
