Groups

  • Different sequence elements may be combined to create a Group. This is a single functional unit that can be moved as if it were a single element, whilst retaining information about the component parts.

    • Examples of elements that may be helpful to group include
      • a promoter, an operator and a ribosome binding site
      • a protease cleavage site and an affinity tag
      • an antibiotic resistance gene and an origin of replication
    • Groups are visualized by sequence elements that are encompassed by a bracket, both in the hierarchical tree (label) and the icon view.
