Groups
Different sequence elements may be combined to create a Group. This is a single functional unit that can be moved as if it were a single element, whilst retaining information about the component parts.
A Group can be created by
Selecting two or more adjacent icons in the
Navigation Pane
or the
Workspace Pane
A group can be a mixture of different types of elements
Examples of elements that may be helpful to group include
a promoter, an operator and a ribosome binding site
a protease cleavage site and an affinity tag
an antibiotic resistance gene and an origin of replication
Groups are visualized by sequence elements that are encompassed by a bracket, both in the hierarchical tree (label) and the icon view.
